Research Grants
The Research Grants Office provides pre-award and non-financial post-award support to faculty in their pursuit of securing research funding. While the principal Investigator is the primary person responsible for all aspects of the research program (including grant materials), most awards are issued to the institution, not the individual. Therefore, institutional authorizations must be formally secured prior to the submission of such grant proposals.
NYU Shanghai Principal Investigators should notify the Research Grants Office (at shanghai.researchgrants@nyu.edu) as early as possible when they consider applying for a grant, either as a PI or as a co-PI. For grant applications where NYU Shanghai investigators are involved as a member or a collaborator, you still should notify us in advance if the application requires institutional clearance or commitment. Three weeks or longer are often required to complete the institutional procedures. The Research Grants Office normally will not review any applications with a due day less than full five business days away.
