Postdoctoral Incentive Program-Competitive Track (updated 9.20.2022)

NYU Shanghai (“the University”) recognizes that faculty supported by strong research teams are likely to progress quickly in their research.  The Incentive Program is intended to provide resources to faculty in hiring postdoctoral fellows (“Fellows”).  

The goal of the Incentive Program-Competitive Track is: (1) to support faculty in building research teams that include high-quality Fellows; (2) to encourage the Fellows to seek and obtain their own external funding to support their research.

The goal of the Incentive Program – Non-Competitive Track is to support tenure-track faculty in building research teams that include high-quality Fellows.

NYU Shanghai Scholar Travel Fund AY23-24 (updated 9.20.2023)

Please note: we are now accepting applications for academic travels to take place by August 15, 2024.

The NYU Shanghai Scholar Travel Fund was established to support attendance and presentations at leading conferences. Academic travels, including for collaboration, may also be considered. Requests will be considered based on proposed activities and budget available. All full-time NYU Shanghai Faculty, postdoctoral fellows and PhD students are eligible to apply.

NYU Shanghai Conference Fund AY23-24 (updated 9.7.2023)

Please note: This conference fund is now open to accept applications.

The NYU Shanghai Conference Fund was established to support faculty-driven, scholarship and research- focused gatherings at NYU Shanghai. Proposals will be considered based on their intellectual merit, potential for substantive benefits to the NYU Shanghai research community, and budget available. Full-time NYU Shanghai Faculty are eligible to apply.

NYU Shanghai Boost Fund (updated 9.7.2023)

NYU Shanghai recognizes that faculty who receive strong funding support are more likely to progress quickly in their research. To further the success of faculty research, the NYU Shanghai Boost Fund will match faculty member’s external competitive awards to enhance their total funding.

2023 LOUD Open Topic Grants of Urban Studies (updated 11.13.2023)

The Shanghai Key Laboratory of Urban Design and Urban Science (LOUD)is pleased to offer Open Topic Grants, intended to support collaborative research projects by urban science researchers. Awards will be up to 25,000 CNY for a 12-month period. These awards are meant to foster collaborative, impactful research on challenges of urban development in the context of climate change and post-pandemic era.
