Call for Proposals
This Call for Proposals for Conference Fund will cover activities to take place by October 31st, 2025.
Description:
The Conference Fund can be applied to any faculty-driven, scholarship and research- focused gatherings. Proposals will be considered based on their potential impact to the field and to the NYU Shanghai research community and budget available. These activities must take place at NYU Shanghai.
Activities that are collaborative and involve several faculty members or centers will be given special consideration.
Eligibility:
Full-time NYU Shanghai Faculty are eligible to apply. Please keep in mind that conference planning may take up to 3-6 months in advance.
Budget and Award Restrictions:
Typical awards will be on the scale of RMB 15,000 – 25,000. An exceptionally strong proposal may receive funding up to RMB 50,000. Funds can be used to cover travel and lodging, refreshments/ meals, and stipend/ honorarium. Event support will be the responsibility of the applicants.
Deadlines:
- November 1st, submitted through InfoReady. Decisions will be announced by November 15th.

Applications will be processed through NYU’s InfoReady Review platform.

Selection and Award Administration:
Applications will be evaluated by an ad hoc Committee (including representatives from the deans, the Provost’s office and the Office of Research). A summary report is required from the lead faculty within 30 days of the activity’s completion.
