Call for Proposals
Description:
Academic travels, including for conference presentations and collaboration, are eligible. All eligible trips must take place by August 31st, 2026. Requests will be considered based on proposed activities and budget available.
Priority is given to individuals giving oral presentations at a conference. Other considerations include: presentation at conferences, lack of alternative sources of support, and maximizing the number of benefiting faculty. If you have other sources of funding (research fund, affiliated centers etc.), please give reasons why they are not available or not adequate for the proposed travel.
Eligibility:
All full-time NYU Shanghai Faculty, postdoctoral fellows and PhD students (Shanghai track and N.E.T. students) are eligible to apply. The funds can only be used towards their own travel.
Budget and Award Restrictions:
Awarded recipients may receive funds, up to RMB 6,000 (through reimbursements). Funds can be used to cover registration fee, and expenses related to the travel (airfare, lodging, per diem, etc.)
Deadlines:
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, until the budget for that year runs out.
- Decisions for applications received by October 31st, 2025 will be announced by November 15th, 2025.
- Decisions for applications received by March 15th, 2026 will be announced by April 1st, 2026.

Any applicant who is a postdoctoral fellow or a PhD student must also provide a recommendation letter (word limit 250) from his/her faculty advisor.
