The procurement of chemicals and drugs should follow the instructions set by Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) group on campus, as part of NYU Shanghai’s laboratory safety oversight. Additional safety guidelines and rules may be found on the EHS guidelines website.
Whenever possible, the use of pharmaceutical grade compounds should be used when conducting animal research. In the case that the use of non-pharmaceutical grade compounds need to be used, scientific justification must be provided to the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) for review and approval, following established IACUC policy.
