Biography:

Shian Zhang received his B. S. degree in 2001 from Fujian Normal University and Ph. D degree in 2006 from East China Normal University. Then he worked in Spectra-physics Company as a senior engineer for one year. In 2007, he joined East China Normal University as Associate Professor, and became full Professor in 2012. He is the Associate Editor of RSC Advances journal. He is a fellow of Shanghai institute of Physics. Dr. Shian Zhang focuses his research on ultrafast quantum control in atom, molecule and ion. By properly controlling the spectral phase, amplitude and polarization of the femtosecond laser pulse in the frequency domain based on a programmable 4f-configuration zero-dispersion pulse shaping system, such a shaped femtosecond laser pulse with almost temporal distribution in the time domain can be obtained. This shaped femtosecond laser pulse can be used to control various nonlinear optical effects in atom, molecule and ion, and consequently control their physical and chemical processes. By now, he has published more than 110 articles in physical and chemical journals.
