About:

In order to encourage and support exchanges between mainland and Hong Kong scholars, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Beijing-Hong Kong Academic Exchange Center (BHKAEC) continue to support scholars to attend academic conferences in Hong Kong.

Four Academic Conferences will be covered under this call:

  1. Frontiers Forum on High-Temperature and Unconventional Superconductivity 高温与非常规超导前沿论坛
    • Host: City University of Hong Kong
    • Dates: Dec. 21-24, 2026
    • Themes:
      • Mechanisms and Pairing Symmetries of High-Temperature and Unconventional Superconductors
      • Novel Superconducting Materials and Phase Diagram Tuning

Funding:

  • Funding will support conference participation costs, including travel document fees, transportation to Hong Kong, registration fees, accommodation, meals, and local transportation. Registration fees are capped at HKD 2,500 for symposia and HKD 3,500 for frontiers forums.
  • In addition to the applicant, one early-career participant from the associated ongoing NSFC project can be included, who can also receive funding as described above.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • The applicant should be leading (as PI) an ongoing NSFC project with a duration of three years or above.
  • If the applicant is a major participant of an ongoing NSFC project, s/he can also apply for this project is this person has a doctoral degree or a senior professional title, or can be recommended by two experts.
  • This program is an international (regional) cooperation and exchange project and is NOT subject to the restriction that “the total number of projects applied for and undertaken is limited to 2”.
  • This program is NOT subject to the restriction that “applicants can only apply for one project of the same type in the same year”
  • This program and other NSFC-BHKAEC projects are mutually exclusive.
