Dengfeng Yan is an Associate Professor of Marketing at NYU Shanghai. His research and teaching interests include Digital Marketing and Consumer Behavior. Dengfeng’s research has been funded by NSFC, Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, University Grants Committee of Hong Kong, among others.

Yifei Li is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies at NYU Shanghai and Global Network Assistant Professor at NYU. He has received research support from the United States National Science Foundation, the Henry Luce Foundation, the American Council of Learned Societies, the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society, the University of Chicago Center in Beijing, and the China Times Cultural Foundation, among others.

Session 3 - How to Become a Cross-Culture Successful Grant Writer

Speaker: Li Li, Professor of Neural Science and Psychology at NYU Shanghai & Global Network Professor at NYU

Speaker Biography: 

Prior to joining NYU Shanghai, Professor Li was an Associate Professor of Psychology at The University of Hong Kong. She holds a PhD degree in Cognitive Science from Brown University (Providence, RI, US), and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Peking University (Beijing, China). Professor Li’s research interests include visual perception, perception and action, and visuomotor control. Her work has appeared in top neuroscience, psychology, and engineering journals. She is an Associate Editor for Neuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews (Elsevier) and a Subject Editor for Displays (Elsevier).

Session 4 - Why Should We Fund Your Research? Insights from a Review Panelist

Speaker: Xiaogang Wu, Yufeng Global Professor of Social Science, Professor of Sociology at NYU Shanghai & NYU

Speaker Biography: 

Prior to joining NYU Shanghai in 2020, Professor Wu was a Chair Professor of Social Science and Public Policy at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology(HKUST), where he directed the Center for Applied Social and Economic Research (CASER). His research interests include education, social stratification and mobility, social demography, survey and quantitative methods. During his 17 years of career in Hong Kong, Professor Wu received numerous competitive grants both from Hong Kong and from the International Funding Agencies, such as the US National Academy of Education/Spencer Foundation, Chiang Ching-Kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange (Taiwan), Hong Kong Research Grants Council, the European Research Council, the US National Institute of Health (NIH). Since he moved to NYU Shanghai, his research has received support from China’s National Social Science Foundation, Ministry of the Consolidator Grants Evaluation Panel, European Research Council 2017-2019 and 2020-2022.
