Interdisciplinary Research Between Physics and Computer Science at NYUSH
Date & Time:
Wednesday, May 9, 2018 - 16:30 to 17:30
Speaker:
Hanghui Chen, Assistant Professor of Physics, NYU Shanghai
Location:
Room 204, NYU Shanghai | 1555 Century Avenue, Pudong New Area, Shanghai
Abstract:
In this presentation, I will talk about two interdisciplinary research projects in which I collaborate with a senior NYUSH student who majors in computer science. In the first project, we utilize GPU computation to accelerate ground-state searching process. In the second project, we use machine-learning techniques to make connections between material parameters and their physical properties.
*Please note that tea and coffee reception will start at 4:00 PM.
