Education:

Dr. Yong Xia obtained his B.S. in 2000 from Department of Physics at Soochow University, and his Ph.D. in 2007 from Department of Physics at ECNU, during this time he carried out the experimental demonstration of electrostatic surface manipulation for cold polar molecules such as guiding, splitting. He did his postdoc at JILA, Colorado University in 2010 – 2011, during this time he participated in laser cooling and 2D magneto-optical trapping of the polar molecule yttrium oxide.

Research Interests:

Laser cooling and magneto-optical trapping of MgF, quantum degenerate diatomic molecular gas, machine learning in structured light field.
