2016 VINS / TCFA Financial Engineering Practice and Innovation Lecture Series

2016 VINS / TCFA Financial Engineering Practice and Innovation Lecture Series is a financial lecture series jointly organized by Volatility Institute at NYU Shanghai (VINS), and the Chinese Finance Association (TCFA). This lecture series will be held on the last Tuesday every month. The lecture series serve as a venue to facilitate the communication between industry and academia in Finance, discuss the latest developments in Finance Engineering, and share with each other the working experiences to improve the development of individual professionals as well as finance industry. We’d like to invite practitioners in Finance industry participate in our lecture series. Scholars, professors and students interested in financial engineering are also welcomed to join these events.

The Volatility Institute at NYU Shanghai (VINS), located at the school’s Pudong Academic Building in the heart of Lujiazui, China’s financial center, aims to create opportunities for research focused on both the Chinese financial markets and markets around the world. It also seeks to facilitate collaboration and community-building among market participants and academic researchers within China and abroad, as well as help improve global financial markets by providing timely financial information and analysis to academics, practitioners, regulators and policy makers through innovative technology platforms and services.

The Chinese Finance Association (TCFA) was founded in the U.S. in 1994. TCFA has served as a central venue for Chinese professionals and students to exchange ideas, to learn from each other, and to advance their careers. Since the beginning, TCFA has served as a bridge between the U.S. and China in the field of finance. We have organized international conferences and hosted many delegates from China. Some of our former directors and current members presently serve as government officials and private sector professionals in China. TCFA is proud of its non-profit status, as our teams and board members all work on a volunteer basis.
