About:

The MOST National Key R&D Project: Strategic Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation on “China-Latin America and Caribbean Countries Cooperation is now open for application. Please refer to the official announcement for more details.

 

Eligibility:

  1. The project leader must hold a senior professional title or a doctoral degree, be born after January 1, 1965, and devote no less than six months per year to the project.
  2. Each project leader may submit only one application. Individuals serving as the principal investigators of ongoing projects under the National Key R&D Program or National Science and Technology Major Projects may not lead or participate in new applications, sub-award project PIs may participate. For both project leaders and key project personnel, the total number of submitted and ongoing projects under these programs may not exceed two. Current principal investigators and key personnel may not withdraw from existing projects in order to apply for new ones. After withdrawing from a project team, individuals may not lead or participate in new National Key R&D Program projects during the remaining implementation period of the original project.
  3. For projects under the “Intergovernmental International Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation” Key Program and the “Strategic Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation” Key Program with funding not exceeding RMB 4 million, they will not count toward the two-project limit. For project leaders, the total number of submitted and ongoing projects under these two programs (including those with funding ≤ RMB 4 million) is limited to one; the same limit applies to key personnel. Personnel-exchange projects under these programs are excluded from this count. Applicants may conduct a self-check against the eligibility requirements.
  4. Ongoing projects (including tasks or subprojects), whose implementation period—after any extensions—ends before December 31, 2025, are exempt from the above restrictions.
  5. Foreign scientists and scientists from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan employed by mainland institutions may serve as project leaders. A valid proof of employment by the mainland institutions should be provided along with the application.
