About:
The 2025 NSFC-DFG Joint Research Program is calling for applications. The program aims to enhance the collaboration and communication between researchers in Germany and China.
Funded Areas:
This program aims to fund research/projects within the area of Intelligent Numerical Mathematics (iNum), including Learning-based Numerics and Numerically Efficient Learning Methods (please refer to the attachment “Funding Areas” for details). Use code under section A as the application code 1.
Funding Scale:
Up to 8 projects will be funded. Up to 1,500,000 RMB (direct cost) per project.
Funding Period:
The funding period is three years, from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2029.
Eligibility:
- Chinese applicants must be a senior professional title holder (i.e., Tenure-track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor), and is leading or had led a three-year or above termed NSFC project;
- German collaborators must meet the DFG's eligibility requirements and submit their applications to the DFG accordingly. Unilateral applications will not be accepted. Please refer to the link for the German application guideline;
- The number of Chinese domestic partner institutions shall not exceed two;
- If the applicant is the PI of an ongoing international (regional) collaboration project, s/he cannot apply for this program;
- Applicants can only apply for one international (regional) collaborative research project in the same year;
- This program is not included in the total number of projects applied for and undertaken.
