2025 Collaborative Research Projects Between the NSFC and the Polish National Science Centre

Project Description:

1. Funding area and application code:
   • Chemistry (Select a subcode under category B for Application Code 1, and it is recommended to select the final level);
   • Life Sciences (Select a subcode under category C for Application Code 1, and it is recommended to select the final level);
   • Engineering and Materials Science (Select a subcode under category E for Application Code 1, and it is recommended to select the final level);
   • Medicine (Select a subcode under category H for Application Code 1, and it is recommended to select the final level).
     Applications with inaccurate or unselected choices will NOT be accepted.
2. This collaborative research project plan to fund no more than 25 projects. For each project, NSFC will provide funding no more than 1,500,000 RMB, including research funding and international cooperation and exchange expenses
3. The funding period is 3 years, from January 1, 2026 - December 31, 2028.

Applicant Eligibility:

1. Applicants from China (no requirement on nationality) must be a senior professional title holder (i.e., Tenure-track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor), and must be leading or had led a three-year or above termed NSFC funded program.
2. The Polish partner should meet the NCN’s eligibility requirements for domestic applicants and submit an application to the NCN in accordance with the requirements. Applications submitted unilaterally will not be accepted.
3. The two parties should have a good cooperation foundation, and the project application should reflect strong cooperation and complementary advantages.
4. The number of domestic cooperative research units should not exceed 2.
5. Applicants can only apply for one international (regional) cooperative research project in the same year.
6. An applicant who is in charge of an international (regional) cooperative research project may not apply for this project as an applicant.
7. The project will not be counted as one of the two projects in total applied or led by the same PI.
