The 2017 Pujiang Talents Plan is now open for application. This program is designed for Chinese talents and/or their teams who have studied abroad and now returned to Shanghai for work. You may read the official announcement (in Chinese) in the attachment.
This two-year program covers four areas: (A) Scientific Research; (B) Entrepreneurship and Innovation; (C) Social Sciences and Humanities Research and (D) Special talents urgently needed by Shanghai.
The program supports three different funding scopes: (1) 300,000 to 500,000 RMB award for group applications, (2) 200,000 RMB award for individual applicants who propose projects in scientific research and development, and corporate innovation and entrepreneurship, and (3) 100,000 RMB award for individual applicants who propose projects in social sciences and humanities. More program information including eligibility requirements and application procedures can be found in the attachment.
Steps for application:
- By 9:00 am (Shanghai Time), December 8th, 2016: Faculty who intend to apply should email us at nyushanghai-grants@nyu.edu.
- By 9:00 am (Shanghai Time), January 13th, 2016: Faculty should complete an online application at the STCSM’s website. The applications will go through the NYU Shanghai institutional review. However, in order to start an online application, applicant should first obtain a Study Abroad Authentication at SMHRSSB. Please see attachment 4 for required materials and detailed instructions.
- By 4:00pm (Shanghai Time), January 16th, 2016: Applicant submits FOUR (4) signed paper copies of application to the Research Grants Office.
