Abstract:
In this presentation, we would like to discuss some recent progress on the subject of controllability to the system of 1-D quasilinear wave equations. Especially, we would like to show that when a Kalman type condition holds on the boundary, one could achieve the exact boundary controllability with less controls than classical results. This presentation is based on collaborations with Prof. Long Hu.

Biography:
Peng Qu received his Ph.D. degree in mathematics from Fudan University in 2012. He then worked at the Chinese University of Hong Kong as a Postdoc and now is Associate Professor at Fudan University. His research interests are analysis and control for systems of partial differential equations.
