ABSTRACT OF THE TALK
We investigate the behavior of positive solutions to the logarithmic diffusion equation on the whole line. Due to fast diffusion, the extinction of solutions may occur in finite time. In this talk, I will investigate precisely the behavior of solutions near the extinction time. By using an intersection number argument, it is shown that after rescaling, the solution approaches a certain profile which is given by a traveling pulse for the logarithmic diffusion equation with a linear source.
