Summer Program (SRPMS)

ABOUT

The NYU Shanghai Summer Research Experience Program in Molecular Science (SRPMS) is designed to foster entry into chemistry and biology research-centered careers for highly motivated graduates and undergraduates with a strong interest in chemistry, biology, or related scientific disciplines. The primary goal of this program is to extend NYU Shanghai's research opportunities to non-NYU Shanghai students and to diversify the scientific workforce in the field of Molecular Science.

Students apply for positions in a 2-month long program with flexible starting dates. Admitted students will have the opportunity to actively participate in research projects under the mentorship of a professor who is at the forefront of his or her field of chemistry and biology. Each student conducts a research project under the direction of his or her mentor. At the end of the program, students produce a report summarizing the outcomes of their research project.

Financial support will be provided for eligible students for the duration of the program. In addition, a limited number of scholarships are available to help offset travel costs.

  • William Glover (computational chemistry, photochemistry/physics)

  • Jungseog Kang (cancer cell biology, HC image analysis)

  • Xiang Sun (theoretical chemistry, quantum dynamics)

  • John Zhang (protein-drug and protein-protein interactions, protein dynamics)
