The Physics Institute co-sponsored one of Asia’s top quantum information conferences, the 22th Asian Quantum Information Science Conference (AQIS 2022), held on December 17 and 18. The conference provided a platform for scholars to share the research progress in quantum information processing, communication and cryptography, an interdisciplinary field bridging quantum physics, computer science, mathematics, and information technologies.
This year’s conference attracted 20 high profile speakers internationally to give invited talks. The poster session received over 70 submissions from students around the globe, and over 200 participants.
One of the missions of the Physics Institute is to further development of key areas such as quantum information and develop further talent. The Physics Institute sponsored the Best Student Poster Award at the conference, and three awards were given to student presenters from the Beijing Computational Science Research Center, the University of Hong Kong, and the Australian National University.
“The talks given at the conference were all at an extremely high level, and the posters were among the best I have ever seen” said Professor Tim Byrnes, Associate Director of NYU-ECNU Institute of Physics at NYU Shanghai, who co-organized the conference as the Co-Chair of Program Committee.
