Institute of Brain and Cognitive Science Welcomes a New Affiliated Faculty

This Fall, the NYU-ECNU Institute of Brain and Cognitive Science at NYU Shanghai is pleased to welcome a new member of the affiliated faculty.

Professor Xin Jin is currently the Director of the Center for Motor Control and Disease at East China Normal University. He received a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health in the United States. Prior to joining ECNU and the Institute, he was an associate professor at The Salk Institute for Biological Studies.

Professor Jin’s research broadly focuses on basal ganglia and motor control, including brain-machine interface and Parkinson's disease. His research has been published in leading journals such as Nature, Cell, Nature Neuroscience, Neuron and eLife. Professor Jin is the recipient of numerous awards for his achievements in the field including the Society for Neuroscience Gruber International Research Award (2011) and the McKnight Memory and Cognitive Disorders Award (2018).
