Prior to joining NYU Shanghai as a Faculty Fellow of Mathematics, Quirin studied as an undergraduate at the University of Munich (LMU) majoring in mathematics (with a minor in computer science). After receiving a master of mathematics and a master of mathematics and statistics at the University of Warwick, he completed his PhD at the same university in 2020. Outside of his mathematical studies, he is a classical music enthusiast.

Research Interests
- Statistical Mechanics and Probability Theory, with a focus on Random Walks (and loops), Percolation, and Interacting Particle Systems
