Robert Steven Kaplan, the President of Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas
Robert Steven Kaplan has served as the thirteenth president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas since September 8, 2015. He represents the Eleventh Federal Reserve District on the Federal Open Market Committee in the formulation of U.S. monetary policy and oversees the 1,200 employees of the Dallas Fed. Kaplan was previously the Martin Marshall Professor of Management Practice and a Senior Associate Dean at Harvard Business School. Prior to joining Harvard in 2006, Kaplan was vice chairman of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. with global responsibility for the firm's Investment Banking and Investment Management Divisions. Previously, he served as global co-head of the Investment Banking Division. He was also a member of the firm’s Management Committee and served as co-chairman of the firm’s Partnership Committee. As president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Kaplan will be a voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) in 2017 and directs the activities of the Bank’s head office in Dallas and of its branches in El Paso, Houston and San Antonio.

Meghnad Jagdishchandra Desai, Chairman, Advisory Board, OMFIF
Lord (Meghnad) Desai, Chairman of the Advisory Board, is Emeritus Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science, which he joined in 1965, and established the Centre for the Study of Global Governance in 1992. Desai holds a BA and MA in Economics from Bombay Mumbai University and obtained his PhD at the University of Pennsylvania. In 2008, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan Award, the third-highest civilian award in the Republic of India. Desai has authored or edited 20 books, has written over 200 articles for academic journals, and contributes to newspapers across the UK and India. Recent books include ‘Marx’s Revenge: The Resurgence of Capitalism and Death of Statist Socialism’; ‘Nehru’s Hero: Development’; ‘Nationhood: Essays on the Political Economy of South Asia’; and ‘The Rediscovery of India’. His research interests include economics, international political economy, economic history, South-Asian studies and globalization.
