The seminar is sponsored by NYU-ECNU Institute for Social Development at NYU Shanghai.
Abstract:
Globalization has had a profound effect on social work practice, changing service delivery; altering skill development and education for professional social workers; creating new social problems for practitioners to address, such as human trafficking, disease and environmental issues; and necessitating a widened view of social issues and practice skills from social workers. This talk will consider the implication of these changes on social work training models, a global social work agenda, and on social work practice around the world in the 21st century.
