Institute's Tim Byrnes Sharing Idea with Quanta Magazine

Institute faculty Tim Byrnes, working at the forefront of quantum information technologies, was quoted by Quanta Magazine's Anil Ananthaswamy, in an article named “Closed Loophole Confirms the Unreality of the Quantum World”.  Recently it was shown that a loophole existed in Wheeler's delayed choice experiment, which showed that the equivalent results could be reproduced by a classical experiment.  Byrnes was involved in a new experimental work in collaboration with Professor Jianwei Pan's group at the University of Science and Technology China, and institute members Professor Jonathan Dowling and Professor Chaoyang Lu.  The experiment successfully closed this loophole and gave a new demonstration of the Wheeler's delayed choice experiment.
