Seminar - Yuning Liu: Monotonicity Formula for Elliptic Equation IV

Topic:
Monotonicity Formula for Elliptic Equation IV
Date & Time:
Thursday, October 29, 2015 - 14:45 to 16:00
Speaker:
Yuning Liu, NYU Shanghai
Location:
Room 371, Geography Building, 3663 Zhongshan Road North, Shanghai

The seminar is sponsored by NYU-ECNU Institute of Mathematical Sciences at NYU Shanghai.

Abstract:

In this talk, we shall first derive a parabolic version of the monotonicity formula in the same manner as what we did for harmonic function. As applications, we shall prove the boundary null-controllability of the heat equation and the strong unique continuation property for parabolic equation when the coefficients of the lower order terms is time-dependent.
