Topic:
Capacity of Transient Simple Random Walk: Typical and Atypical Order
Date & Time:
Tuesday, May 2, 2017 - 11:00 to 12:00
Speaker:
Bruno Schapira, University Aix-Marseille
Location:
Room 264, Geography Building, 3663 Zhongshan Road North, Shanghai

ABSTRACT OF THE TALK
We will review recent results obtained in collaboration with Amine Asselah (Paris 12) and Perla Sousi (Cambridge), describing typical asymptotics for the capacity of the range. This question is motivated by questions related to the way a simple random walk reduces its range.

BIOGRAPHY
Bruno Schapira is Professor in Probability at University Aix-Marseille. His main research interests focus on random walks, self-interacting random walks, random graphs and particle systems.
