Workshop Introduction:

This 2-day workshop aims to provide knowledge and skill training in geriatric care covering topics such as common stressors and challenges facing older adults, biopsychosocial assessment, person-in-environment approaches, and the complete process of assessing older adults' issues/programs, problem definition, goal setting, intervention, evaluation, and to monitoring. Issues on working with older adults with mental health will also be covered and discussed.

Speaker: Tazuko Shibusawa

Tazuko Shibusawa is Associate Professor at the Silver School of Social Work. Dr. Shibusawa's research, which has been funded by the National Institute of Drug Abuse and the John A. Hartford Foundation Geriatric Social Work Faculty Scholars Program, focuses on the health and mental health of older adults and their families, elder abuse and mistreatment, and clinical practice with Asian and Asian immigrants. She is co-author of Asian American Elders in the Twenty-First Century: Key Indicators of Well-Being (2008, Columbia University Press with Ada Mui).

Dr. Shibusawa received her MSW and Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles and completed post-graduate training in family therapy, psychoanalytically-oriented psychotherapy, and international trauma studies.  Her clinical experiences include director of social services, Keiro Nursing Home in Los Angeles, California; psychiatric social worker, Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, Asian Pacific Counseling & Treatment Center; co-director of Counseling International in Tokyo, Japan; and mental health consultant for the World Health Organization.  Dr. Shibusawa also teaches annual summer intensives on family social work and clinical practice in Tokyo, Japan.

培训简介

本次培训工作坊为期两天,致力于为学员提供老年护理的相关知识与技能培训,将涵盖老年人所经常面临的压力与挑战、生物-心理-社会评估、人在环境理论、以及针对老年人问题的评估、问题界定、目标设立、实务干预、评估与检测等全过程。本次工作坊也将同时涉及关于老年人精神健康方面的干预的讨论。

主讲人

Tazuko Shibusawa博士是纽约大学社会工作学院副教授。她的研究对象主要为亚裔移民,重点研究老年人及其家庭的生理和心理精神健康,虐待老人及相关领域的临床实践,她的研究同时受到了美国国家药物使用研究所和John A. Hartford基金会老年社会工作学者奖励计划的资助。Shibusawa博士也是《21世纪的亚裔老年人:身心健康的关键指标 (2008年哥伦比亚大学出版社)》一书的作者之一。

 Shibusawa博士于加州大学洛杉矶分校荣获硕士和博士学位,并接受了关于家庭治疗、精神分析的心理治疗和创伤研究的高级培训。Shibusawa博士的临床经验包括美国洛杉矶Keiro护理之家社会服务中心主任、亚太区咨询与治疗中心洛杉矶精神健康部门的精神科社工、日本东京国际咨询共同主任、和世界卫生组织精神健康顾问。Shibusawa博士同时也在日本东京教授关于家庭社会工作和临床实务的暑期课程。
