International Summer Graduate School on “Contemporary Urbanization and Social Governance”

Introduction:
This course, collaboration between the School of Social Development at East China Normal University (ECNU) and NYU-ECNU Institute for Social Development at NYU Shanghai, is an intensive summer course focused on social policy development in the context of Urbanization and Migration. This course provides students with the opportunity to learn about key issues concerning the nature and contributing factors to urbanization, migration, and poverty and inequality in the context of globalization. Social policies and social work practices in response to these issues will be explored and discussed. This course will also provide the opportunity for regional comparison within China including a focus on rural-to-urban and west-to-east migration. The program is open to graduate students from disciplines in sociology or related fields across China.
