Laurent Tournier is a Visiting Associate Professor of Mathematics at NYU Shanghai. He is also an Assistant Professor at Université Sorbonne Paris-Nord (Paris 13). Tournier graduated from the École Normale Supérieure in Paris before receiving his PhD in Mathematics at the University of Lyon, France. He also occupied a postdoc position at IMPA in Rio de Janeiro. His main research interests are in random and deterministic motion in random environment, reinforced random walks, particle systems, and statistical mechanics.
