Visiting Professor of Mathematics at NYU Shanghai
Jun Hu is a visiting professor of mathematics at NYU-Shanghai in Spring 2018. Jun is a professor of mathematics at City University of New York (CUNY). He is also a doctoral faculty in mathematics at Graduate Center of CUNY and lately serves as the Chairperson of the Mathematics Department at Brooklyn College of CUNY. He received B.S. from Tsinghua University and Ph.D. from Graduate Center of CUNY, and he was a USA NSF postdoctoral fellow in 1998-2002. He takes a sabbatical leave from CUNY in this spring semester.
Jun's research interests include low-dimensional dynamical systems, and different aspects of Teichmuller theory (particularly on Thurston's earthquake theory and Douady-Earle conformally natural extensions).
