Abstract:
In this talk, we will discuss the sub-elliptic operators and their potential theory. These include the fundamental solutions, the surface mean value theorem, Liouville type theorem, hypoellipticity and Bocher type theorem, etc. Two of most important sub-elliptic operators are the Kohn-Laplacian in the Heisenberg group and the Grushin operators which are degenerate elliptic operators in the Euclidean view.
