Abstract:

We discuss a set of infinite energy standing wave solutions to the nonlinear Schrödinger equations on Rd. These solutions are not periodic, unlike the paper of Moser. We will motivate how semi-algebraic geometry comes into play.

Biography:

Wei-Min Wang is a Visiting Professor of Mathematics at NYU Shanghai in Spring 2019. Wei- Min is a Research Director in the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in France. She received her B.S. from MIT and Ph.D. from Princeton University. Wei-Min has been a member at the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton. She was a plenary speaker at the International Congress of Mathematical Physics. Wei-Min's research interests mainly lie in analysis, partial differential equations, infinite dimensional dynamical systems and mathematical physics.
