Abstract:

In this talk, I will present a recent result about an interaction problem between a 3D compressible viscous fluid placed in a container and a 3D viscoelastic solid immersed in fluid, coupled together on the interface surface. The solid is allowed to have contact with itself and the rigid walls of the container. For this problem, a weak solution with defect measure is constructed. The defect measures appear due to lack of equi-integrability of pressure near the contact points, where the fluid domain becomes a priori irregular. I will discuss some of the novelties and difficulties of this result, and some related open problems will be mentioned as well. This work was done in collaboration with Malte Kampschulte and Boris Muha, and it can be found at arxiv.org/abs/2304.11809.

Biography:

Srđan Trifunović is an assistant professor at Faculty of Sciences of University of Novi Sad, Serbia. He obtained his PhD diploma from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2020. In his research, he focuses on studying the mathematical models of fluid-structure interaction which describe how solid and fluid matter affect each other. His other research interests are mainly in applied mathematics and include the theory of compressible viscous fluids, elasticity and thermodynamics.
