Abstract:
This talk presents recent results about the spherical ensemble, a model of random matrix theory, both on the integrable and the universal version. More precisely, we consider the edge fluctuation as well as the central limit theorem for linear statistics with singular test functions. Joint works with David Garcia-Zelada and YuanYuan Xu.
Biography:
Djalil CHAFAÏ received his PhD from the University of Toulouse in 2002. He is a mathematician specializing mainly in probability and statistics, analysis, and mathematical physics. He has been a university professor since 2009, at Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée and then Paris-Dauphine - PSL. From September 2021 through August 2031, he is with the department of mathematics and applications of the École normale supérieure - PSL. He is an honorary member of the Institut universitaire de France (IUF).
