Postdoctoral Fellow at NYU Shanghai
Kuntan Ni is a Postdoctoral Fellow at NYU Shanghai. Dr. Ni’s research interest is in neuronal dynamics in both micro- and macro- circuitry levels underlying cognitive functions (e.g. working memory, decision-making) and mechanisms of emotion-cognition interactions. Within Dr. Xinying Cai’s laboratory at NYU Shanghai, he will focus on neural mechanisms of economic decision-making, specifically the role of basal ganglia (BG) and information flow among multiple brain areas, e.g. lateral prefrontal cortex (LPFC), anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), and orbitofrontal cortex (OFC). To achieve these goals, he will mainly adopt methodologies of psychophysics and electrophysiology in awake non-human primates.
