Xiaoming Zhou Awarded the 2018 Natural Science Prize

Institute member, ECNU faculty Xiaoming Zhou was recently awarded the 2018 Natural Science Prize of Shanghai (Third Place) for his work on the plasticity of brain’s auditory cortex.  Through a novel strategy to modulate brain plasticity through perceptual training, Zhou’s work not only helps to glean a light into the general mechanism of brain function development, but also provides theoretical and experimental basis for the development of new methods and strategies for the treatment of brain sensory dysfunction.

The annual Natural Science Prize of Shanghai was established by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government in recognition of those outstanding scientists who made major contribution to the science and technology innovation and economic and social development in Shanghai. A couple of dozens of projects were awarded the prize this year, including six the third place prize.
